On the back of the driest July-April 10-month period on record for Southern England, and with the  and other long-range forecast agencies all agreeing that a warmer-than-average summer is the most probable scenario, dust is likely to be an ever-present issue for UK industry in the next few months. To assist clients with planning ahead for conditions that are likely to be conducive to more dust being generated, Corgin have recently launched a new service called DustAlert. This is reviewed daily and provides a ‘dust forecast’ for all UK regions for the next 5 days. The only forecast of its kind freely available online, DustAlert looks at a combination of factors each day for each region, including both recent and forecasted levels of precipitation, sunshine and temperature.
