Dust Suppression at a Ready Mix Plant [Video]

In this short video, a Site Manager for Tarmac speaks about his experience with his recently-installed Corgin dust suppression equipment. At this ready-mix concrete plant, Tarmac have opted for a MistCannon to give targeted coverage of a lorry discharge operation—potentially a significant dust source in dry weather.

The client has also had two AtomisterHyflo systems installed: one of these is inside the Rail Discharge Unit, which is expected to come online in 2018 when the new Crossrail project is completed. This system comprises nozzles placed at the mouth of the discharge hoppers, to give intensive suppression at the point at which the train discharges its load of aggregate.

The second AtomisterHyflo system has nozzles placed along the vehicle route around the plant and is designed to provide low-level suppression to minimise dust emissions from vehicle tracking. This site is closely bounded by the railway on one side, the elevated A40 on the other and multiple residential properties nearby.

Tarmac have clearly recognised the importance of a ‘belt-and-braces’ approach to dust suppression on-site and Corgin are delighted to have worked with them to achieve this objective.
