Corgin engineers recently completed training on the safe use of hand tools and learnt about recent technological advancements such setting the torque of a drill by scanning the box of fixings using a built-in barcode scanner.
The engineers were shown a new SDS drill with dust extraction that not only minimises the release of dust but also reduces the drill time.
With the current focus on reducing workers' exposure to dust, especially respirable crystalline silica dust (RCS), measures like this are a responsible approach to mitigating the risks associated with power tools that create dust.
