When did you join Corgin?
July 2013.
What's one thing about your job at Corgin that motivates you?
Working with a motivated team that's striving to achieve the seemingly impossible and being able to achieve more in less time through automation, systematisation and focus on priorities.
What's a book/methodology/piece of advice that has influenced your approach to work?
Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen - A principle based book about how to manage the ever increasing number of inputs across all areas of life without feeling out of control.
The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life Before 8AM by Hal Elrod - A book about entrenching daily habits into your life that will keep you focused and positive even through the tough times in life.
What's your favourite team tradition or team-building activity at Corgin?
The unexpected acts by individuals to boost team morale with food, gifts, or a heartfelt word of appreciation is what stands out in my mind as a long-standing Corgin tradition - I can hardly recall the projects or targets from ten years ago, but I can still remember some of the genuine gestures of appreciation or motivation shown by various ones, either as a thank you for the good times or as encouragement during the challenging times.
Which company value resonates with you the most, and why?
Focusing on solutions - there's always a million and one problems or challenges with anything in life but focusing on solutions is much more positive and motivating.
What would be your dream job?
A surgeon - After my recent stay in hospital, I'd love to be able to emulate the same care and compassion that the healthcare workers showed me and I think the challenges of surgery, the urgency for results, the research into the incredible complexity of God's creation, and the collective motivation of a team working towards saving or improving someone's life are incredibly compelling.
