Plant Fitter/Installation & Maintenance Engineer

Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, honest and hard-working individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude, to work as a plant fitter/installation and maintenance engineer in our busy and growing organisation. The engineer must be willing and able to travel throughout the UK and possibly overseas, with overnights away from home as required - sometimes being away for a full week and returning home for the weekend. The engineer will need to be fit, self-initiated and able to overcome challenges that arise on site, work to high standards and be able to meet targets and deadlines.
Equipment Overview
The role relates primarily to equipment sold and hired by Corgin:
- Mobile, diesel-engined or generator-powered misting equipment for dust and odour suppression
- Installed, mains-powered misting equipment for dust and odour suppression
- Installed wastewater treatment equipment, in particular aerators
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Installing and commissioning dust/odour suppression systems and wastewater treatment equipment on customers’ sites
- Performing site surveys in view of the above: assessing the best method of installation; assessing access, cranage and other special requirements; taking and/or checking critical measurements; assessing potential risks; meeting the client, subcontractors and suppliers on site to agree installation methodology and understand expectations
- Servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing dust/odour suppression systems and wastewater treatment equipment, both on scheduled service visits and emergency call-outs
- Preparing equipment and picking parts prior to installations and servicing
- Managing van stock of spare parts and consumables needed for installations and servicing
- Maintaining in a ready-to-go state, and preparing for despatch, Corgin’s hire fleet of aeration equipment and dust/odour suppression in line with our core competency of ‘Rapid: right, on time’ – including servicing, troubleshooting and repairs
- Occasional: receiving and storing warehouse goods, fulfilling customer orders and despatching goods promptly and accurately
Qualifications and Experience (Mandatory)
- Broad working knowledge of and experience with mechanical and electrical equipment
- Experience relevant to the job role
- CSCS card
- UK Citizenship or ‘Indefinite Leave to Remain’
- UK Driving License
Qualifications and Experience (Preferable)
- Experience maintaining diesel-powered plant
- Experience with water pumps and water pipework
- Experience with air compressors and air pipework
- Experience with generators
- Experience with 415V, 3-phase electrics
- Experience with 12V/24V electrics
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with PLC programming
- Experience with rotating industrial equipment such as motors, gearboxes, couplings and bearings
- Experience managing a team of engineers
- Mechanical or engineering qualification
- Minimum two-day accredited health & safety management training course such CCNSG, SSSTS or SMSTS
- 17th Edition qualification
- IPAF qualification
- Working at Height qualification
- PASMA qualification
- Confined Space qualification
- Slinger / Lift Supervisor / Appointed Person qualification
